"hmmmm.....I don't think I have to give any introduction to you( since you were there in Fr. varghese last day in colg) or the current members in your community....i was reading your articles the other day........I don't think its that bad as u depicted....i have been in that colg for the last four years..may b yes the rules have increased from a 100 to 10,000 now.....but its the way that you handle things that matter.....NOW I WANT TO MAKE THIS CLEAR FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.....I AM NOT TRYING TO COUNSEL ANY ONE HERE>>>....i knw that you wldnt digest that.........the reason that i em telling u is this....its all about your perceptive......when i was there.......... there were all sorts of rules....from not talking to girls after 5pm....getting up early at 6.30am, studying till 11.00pm, taking bath b4 7.00pm, one arm distance...so on and so forth....but lemme tell u this...I never followed them all....and Fr. very well knew it...coz i used to do it in front of him...but I gave him this assurance in the first year of my colg life...no matter wat I do...I WOULDN'T CROSS THE LIMITS TO MAKE ANY ONE DISAPPOINT....i never used to stay till 11.00pm( except for exams) ...i used to slp off at 9.00pm...and the daily reports used to go....i was never called for sleeping early...i was never called for talking to a girl ( after 5)....i was never called for anything of these....the basic reason for it was....i never bothered them...they never did back........
But this mit not b the case for every1...basically because their start was not good enough....for any new place u enter ( at least in future) ur first year is crucial...u show that ur not a pain in unwanted places...then ppl will respect u....i knw that....and i wld say...i enjoyed there!!..

Dear nevin,
i know exactly what you are saying.but things have changed so very
much.its not at all like the days when father pathadan was here.ive
spent enuf time under him.and i have spent enuf under the current one
too.the rather thick line bw "strict" and "unacceptable" has been
crossed.and man, its been crossed big time.if it was the time under
pathadan and you were saying wat you said,i wud have gone with
yours.but its a different time now.you should have been here.even with
your tolerant perspective,you would have had a different opinion
altogether.wen pathadan was here,even though things wer questionable
under norms,they where still sensible.they were sane.it had some
substance.a purpose.so i beg to differ,my friend.i do admire your
healthy attitude and confidence.you are a model to us all.

Discipline for the sake of discipline,that too compromising and
costing the character and moral of the students is not a good
ethic,nevin.especially for an engineering college.try to incorporate
the judgement that things might be different,and that too,not in a
very good way.

give the kids a break stop telling them that place was good etc etc etc......i know how tuff the tym was...wen i was there....but i must say i manged to get away with a good in my conduct certificate!!!!! somehow...must be my prayers to the lord almighty....
well i quite co realate to what u kids are telling...there used to be tym wen prehistoric queen bee(lets call her PHB) in the ladies hostel was out on hunt for me and my mates....well anything that is even remotely outta place...i know how it is to live with fear with the sheer anger and all the "FRUSTRATION"
the whistling episode reminds me the no. of tyms i'av been sent to ed 1!!! all for NO REASON!!!! maddening eh!! ryt..and even more irritating is being threatened PHB for telling all that happens in your hostel to your parents!!!!

i totally understand wat you feel.....but do not over do things....by taking thing sinto your hands if things get nasty.....remember it is us who needs them not vice versa.....so take care that anything serious u do cud have disasterous results....whatever you do tell everything at home....make sure they back u up!!! wid that things will be in control and if things get way outta hand your parents will handle it!!!!

and as far as all guys are concerned...u'll survive anywhere!!!! it is like thos free survivors test!!!

have fun to the max...u cant av fun once u step out!!! have fun inspite of the rules that is the "SPIRIT!!!!"

p.s nev u cud be a bit more brave no ATLEAST..u are no longer in the college to suck upto the mgmt....u shud av joined the community and posted it rather than mail to V
nev no offense to u!!! but u know me!!! i av always hated you for being the too perfect one so that everyone over looked ur shortcomings!!!!
and i do appriciate u for being modest!!!
